Attentive ships AI Grow: a per-visitor timing agent for email and SMS opt-ins

The GA release replaces fixed sign-up pop-ups with a real-time judgment call on when to ask each shopper.

Attentive pushed AI Grow to general availability on August 19, retiring the fixed pop-up as the default entry point into a brand’s email and SMS list. In its place: a per-visitor timing agent that reads real-time browsing and shopping behavior, across identified and logged-out sessions, and picks the moment each shopper is most likely to say yes.

The thesis is that opt-in timing has been the least personalized moment in commerce. Every visitor sees the same interstitial at the same scroll depth, whether they arrived from a paid search click or a third repeat visit.

“For decades, retailers have relied on a rules-based approach to engage website visitors, even though every shopper makes buying decisions differently… AI gives us the opportunity to start personalization earlier — at the moment a shopper decides whether to begin a relationship with a brand,” said Eric Miao, Attentive’s Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Product Officer.

Beta cohorts, measured through incremental A/B tests against each brand’s prior setup, saw a median 25% lift in sign-ups from existing traffic and a 35% lift in welcome-series revenue. Yankee Candle logged a 52% combined subscriber lift on first deployment and a 20% welcome-conversion lift later. Clove reported 19% incremental subscribers and 48% welcome revenue. MANSCAPED captured 2,167 Super Bowl opt-ins, 5.4x its prior-week daily average.

“helps us make smarter decisions faster, which is critical for a brand like ours managing a high volume of campaigns across channels,” said Deepthy Marunninal, Sr. Manager, CRM at Yankee Candle.

AI Grow shares an identity graph with AI Journeys and AI Pro and inherits Brand Voice 2.0 across SMS, email, and RCS. Attentive won the 2026 ADWEEK Tech Stack Awards Agentic AI Product/Platform category, and MarTech’s August 20 roundup placed the launch alongside Adobe Workfront AI Collaborators, GrowthLoop’s composable commerce media network, and Uniphore’s Marketing AI.

Timing matters: Attentive’s July 2026 Consumer Pulse found 83% of shoppers begin planning holiday purchases before Black Friday and 71% plan to start shopping before it. The agentic layer is arriving where the rules-based one has quietly been leaking money for years.
