Yext ships Corvo AI, a free SMS agent that texts owners local-visibility fixes
The conversational prototype landed alongside Q2 FY2027 earnings, aimed at the sub-$50K cohort Yext's enterprise UI failed to serve.
On September 1, 2026, Yext released a working prototype of Corvo AI, a free conversational agent that lives at askcorvo.com and texts small-business owners specific fixes to their local visibility. It arrived the same day as Q2 FY2027 earnings, and the sequencing wasn’t accidental.
The sub-$50K ARR cohort, historically Yext’s small-business base, fell 22% year over year to $34.9 million. The enterprise cohort at or above $50K grew 2%, to $405.9 million. Corvo AI is the response to a churn problem the company created by orienting its UI upward, and it’s aimed squarely at the operators who were never going to log into an enterprise dashboard to audit their own listings and reviews.
The mechanics matter. Corvo AI delivers Yext’s existing Listings and Reviews products through SMS, drawing on the same execution agents Yext sells upstream. No login, no configuration, no seat purchase. The owner gets a text; the owner approves a fix. Yext’s shareholder letter describes the underlying refactor as “fully headless,” meaning the enterprise stack now sits behind an interface layer that can be swapped, wrapped, or, in this case, reduced to a phone number.
The broader positioning arrives September 30, 2026, at Yext’s Envision conference, alongside Brand Scout, the rebrand of GoShine, which Yext acquired in June. A Corporate Ink survey cited in the release found 88% of CMO- and VP-level marketers are being asked about AI visibility by leadership or boards, while only 34% have a defined strategy. The pressure is real; the answers aren’t.
CEO Michael Walrath’s shareholder letter hedges directly, promising to “update our view on this opportunity in future communications.” That’s the language of a company shipping into a category it doesn’t yet understand, at a price point of zero, to a cohort it can’t afford to keep losing.
