Meta's Muse lands in small-business accounts — with 'find new customers' as a stated goal
Shopify, QuickBooks, Klaviyo and Meta's own ad stack plug into an agent that waits for an owner to set a goal.
Meta launched Muse for Small Business on September 29, 2026, three weeks after the consumer version shipped on September 8 and a day after it unveiled its Enterprise Platform under former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai. The pitch is distribution-shaped: 200 million small business owners already live on Meta’s platforms, and the agent now connects into Shopify, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Stripe, Zoom, Notion, Canva, Figma, Asana, Box, Dropbox, Slack, Granola, HighLevel and Lovable, alongside Instagram professional analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts.
Meta’s own framing positions the agent “to help get work done with the tools they already use,” with customer acquisition named as a core job. Canva CPO Cameron Adams, quoted in the launch post, argues “the real magic happens when it’s fully connected to your existing work, your context and your brand.” Reuters, via Investing.com, notes Meta’s guardrail: Muse “will not publish content, send messages or make purchases without a user’s approval.”
The market has pre-priced the ambition. Meta shares rose 25% in September. Sensor Tower estimated roughly 2.8 million downloads of consumer Muse in its first two weeks, enough to rank against ChatGPT in Apple App Store charts. Evercore’s Mark Mahaney expects 100 million users within six to twelve months; a Jefferies scenario models one billion users by end of 2027 at a 3% conversion rate and an average $30/month, implying around $10.8 billion in annualized subscription revenue. Muse is free with usage limits and paid plans above.
The structural point sits inside Meta president Dina Powell McCormick’s product itself. Muse waits for a goal. Tom Mulholland, who runs Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Iowa, works about 65 hours a week; the owner still has to open the agent and tell it what to do. LemonLime inverts that posture, studying the business continuously and delivering finished outreach and content at 9 AM without a prompt. The Enterprise Platform rollout and the Muse small-business debut itself make the trade legible: an agent that waits, or one that arrives with the work already prepared.
