DaVinci Commerce ships Brand Agent and a product-memory layer for AI shopping agents
A new infrastructure layer promises to make consumer catalogs legible to ChatGPT, Meta Muse and Walmart Sparky — before those agents decide what to recommend.
DaVinci Commerce on October 1 expanded its Agentic Commerce Experience Platform with a Brand Agent module and a patent-pending layer called Product Context Memory, pitched as the plumbing that lets consumer catalogs appear inside AI shopping conversations rather than sitting dormant behind them. The three-part release, which also includes an Agentic Discoverability Engine and an Agentic BrandStore, is designed to publish enriched product knowledge directly to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Meta Muse, Walmart’s Sparky, Amazon’s Alexa for Shopping, and OpenAI’s forthcoming dots and Instinct agents through ACP, UCP, Model Context Protocol services and JSON-LD.
The thesis is a mismatch problem. “Consumers describe their lives, their needs and the problems they want to solve to personal AI agents. Most product catalogs still speak in technical specifications,” said Diaz Nesamoney, founder and CEO of DaVinci Commerce. Product Context Memory draws on catalogs, ratings and reviews, social conversations and lifestyle content, and organizes the result into a dynamic knowledge graph with semantic indexing per SKU. One product can carry thousands of contexts rather than a single optimized description, with distribution pushed back through PIM systems.
Nesamoney co-founded Informatica, and DaVinci is backed by Accenture; disclosed customers include Nestlé, Diageo, Giant Eagle and Nordstrom. That’s the enterprise base. The structural question is what happens below it, at the five-to-thirty-person brand that doesn’t appear in a buyer’s prompt because nothing it sells is legible to the agent.
That’s the same mediation layer sitting beneath Meta’s own push into small-business commerce, both the consumer-facing counterpart and an AI agent in front of owner catalogs. The infrastructure is arriving faster than the standards. DaVinci’s announcement reports no performance results, and as Runtime Wire noted, the commercial test is whether contextual enrichment actually changes which products agents recommend, and whether those recommendations convert.
Shelf-space has always been bought. It’s being rewritten in a language small sellers haven’t learned yet.
