Bloomreach ships Loomi Connect to GA with 200 agents already live
The MCP-based layer lets external AI agents hit 180+ Bloomreach tools — launched a day after Salesforce moved on Braze.
Bloomreach moved Loomi Connect to general availability on October 21, exposing more than 180 of its tools to any Model Context Protocol–compatible AI agent, including those running in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Cursor. The company says more than 200 agents were already built during early access, driving over 50,000 weekly tool invocations and 83% month-over-month user growth.
The timing is the story. De Datta’s own framing points to Braze potentially being absorbed into Salesforce’s closed ecosystem as the kind of consolidation Loomi Connect is positioned against. Bloomreach’s pitch, by contrast, is interoperability as a product category.
CEO and co-founder Raj De Datta didn’t soften the contrast. “closed systems take control away from marketing and ecommerce teams. So as CDPs move into the data warehouse and platforms like Braze may soon be absorbed into a closed ecosystem like Salesforce, who’s making sure these teams can still build experiences that fit their brand and their customers?” He positioned Bloomreach as “one of the last independent AI customer engagement companies for enterprises,” and framed Loomi Connect as a layer that “gives every marketing and ecommerce team an interoperable system, so the customer engagement decisions always remain theirs.”
The practical difference matters for small e-commerce and DTC teams. Agents on Loomi Connect don’t just read data; the company says they can analyze performance, build segments, launch campaigns, and take other approved actions. That’s the gap between a chatbot and an operator.
Loomi itself comprises “multiple models, including purpose-built, adaptive models that learn from each business’s unique data, orchestrated together” to drive revenue, and now powers personalization for more than 1,400 global brands including Groupon, SharkNinja, American Eagle, Sonepar, and Pandora. Hundreds of hackathon participants built against it during early access.
The broader market is sorting into two camps: suites consolidating decisioning behind owned pipes, and open protocol layers betting that marketers will choose portability over convenience. See also: the Braze absorption and the new real-time floor it sets. This week drew the line in sharpie.
