Anthropic's S-1 lands: 11,900 six-figure customers, revenue up 1,300%

The Monday filing discloses a hockey-stick first half and an enterprise book that small operators will struggle to catch.

Anthropic filed its S-1 with the SEC on Monday, disclosing $16.3 billion in first-half 2026 revenue against $1.2 billion in the same period a year earlier, a jump of roughly 1,300%. Bloomberg expects shares to list on Nasdaq under “ANT” in November.

The customer book is where the filing stops being a growth story and starts being a moat story. More than 11,900 customers now spend at least $100,000 a year with Anthropic. Of those, 1,900 spend $1 million or more, and about 250 clear $10 million. Net revenue retention sat near 900% at the end of Q3, which the filing attributes to “significant usage expansion as customers realize the value of deploying Claude across their organizations.”

That retention figure is the number small operators should read twice. Existing accounts aren’t just renewing; they’re multiplying spend ninefold inside a year.

The stickiness mechanism is also legible in the document. Over 50% of six-figure accounts now use both the Claude platform and a first-party app such as Cowork, up from roughly 30% at the end of 2025. Inside Claude Enterprise, the top 5% of spenders, those who adopted Claude Code, outspend the average enterprise user by about 20x. Applied-engineering programs like Ode with Anthropic are being pointed at the same cohort.

For a five-person company evaluating agentic outreach, the filing reframes the question. It’s not whether to adopt. It’s how to buy capacity in a market where incumbents already command priority access, custom engineering, and pricing leverage, as covered in Claude Duet’s small-business pitch and the EU small-business agent-use data OpenAI released this month.

Anthropic itself concedes it “may not achieve or sustain profitability in the future.” The enterprise ledger suggests who gets served first if that discipline arrives.
